Disgraced ‘Downfall’ video MP has ‘Downfall’ video made about him

Possible cause of the destruction of society as we know it
A Labour MP who quit his party post after lampooning Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond in an online parody of the Nazi film Downfall has had a Downfall parody video made about him, it has been revealed.
Tom Harris posted a clip of the German-language film on YouTube, altering the subtitles to mock Mr Salmond, only to find that somebody had done exactly the same thing after he quit his post, with a view to mocking his own situation.
“Damn they are quick,” said Mr Harris last night, as he heard the news. “All in all, it’s been a pretty terrible day. First, I’m forced to resign, and the next, I find that I’ve had a Downfall parody video made about me. Everyone knows that making a Downfall parody video is the biggest cuss anybody can give anyone. Can I sink any lower than this?
“All I wanted to do was have a bit of a laugh at the expense of Alex Salmond, but now that I have had a Downfall film made about me and my situation, I’d like to offer a heartfelt apology for my actions.
“Now that I’ve suffered first hand from the agony Downfall parody videos can cause, I understand the pain and anguish Mr Salmond must be going through.”
Meanwhile, social media experts have warned that, left unchecked, the phenomenon of Downfall parodies has the potential to ruin society as we know it.
“Think about it,” said Peter Warner, head of London digital agency Interwebz. “In this instance, Tom Harris has been forced to resign because of his Downfall parody video. But what happens if the guy who made a Downfall parody of him is also forced to resign, causing somebody else to make a Downfall video parodying the Downfall video he made of Tom Harris’s original Downfall video?
“The ricochet effect of a series of Downfall parody videos could spread like wildfire until there’s not a single person left in the country with a job. Society would crumble to pieces and the wheels of commerce will grind to a halt. And why? Because of Downfall parody videos. That’s why.”
In the short time since Mr Warner made his comments, forty-seven Downfall parody videos have already been uploaded to YouTube, depicting the Hitler character in the film over-reacting to his predicted spread of Downfall parodies.
“We’re through the looking glass here, people,” Mr Warner added.
